Frequently Asked Questions

Q – Why do you need to arrive at least two hours early in the destination town/City?

A – We often drive long distances so we need to pre-empt traffic delays. We also need to park and freshen up before meeting you both.

Q – Is it best to book you first, or book my Ceremony?

A – That is entirely up to you. If you wish, and you know the month you wish to have your Ceremony, we can let you know our current availability for that month.

Q – Can I phone you if I have questions or if I want reassurance? There is no phone number on your website.

A – Of course. Just let us know and we will supply you with a phone number. We can then arrange a mutually convenient date and time for a chat.

Q – Why is discretion important?

A – We behave professionally, dress appropriately and respect your privacy. Many couples prefer that we blend in quietly – we are happy to do exactly that. We ask for your dress code so that we blend in.

Q – Are you a registered business?

A – We are a sole trader. We are registered with HMRC for tax returns.

Q – Do you offer emergency/last minute witnesses?

A – If we are available, you can book us at short notice and we will attend. Payment is required before we attend any Ceremony.

Q – Does it matter that we don’t personally know you?

A – It doesn’t matter. It is legal to hire Wedding Witnesses in the UK. Your witnesses need to be adults present for the whole Ceremony, and be able to understand what is being said. We like to meet up with you before your Ceremony and that is why we attend the Register Office one hour before your Ceremony time. Of course, its entirely up to you at what time you wish to arrive!

Q – What happens if we have to change dates?

A – We will do our very best to attend the rescheduled date if your Ceremony date has to be changed. We are a small very niche company but we do have some other trusted witnesses that we can call upon.

Q – Why are there no photos of you on the website?

A – As discretion is so important, we don’t publish photos of ourselves on our website. We send a photo of us to couples upon booking so that they know who to expect on the day.
